The New Year's Eve party in Chisinau

La multi ani!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, our dear friends!

We congratulate heartily all of you  on the approach of  Y2K, the last year  of outgoing millennium. With the whole of our hearts we wish you a lot of stamina and spiritual strength especially when facing  the difficulties, we wish you a lot of family happiness and faithful friends, and let luck be your guide whenever you start something together with your perfect health.

The nature gave us a wonderful present  that New Year's night,  it covered the city with snow, turning it into ceremonial decorations for the Christmas fairy tale. It had been really delightful to celebrate the first morning of the year 2000 in the city dressed in white, sparkling cloak. The omen the nature gave us as the purification symbol made our hearts thump with joy as if it foresaw the positive changes, conciliation, the improvement of everything that surrounds us.

This is the way the people from Chisinau celebrated the New Yea -no pomposity, no excessive richness and pretence. The republic cannot  afford illuminating the streets of its cities, it cannot  provide the wage payment, power  and heat supply on time, let alone the hot water which had been simply forgotten. We have only one thing left which is pronounced like a spell "Be grateful for what you have unless it turns worse". For example they didn't even have gas in Erevan.

Yet life continues no matter what the surroundings are, and people are happy with what they have -either opportunities and realizations they  finally got after 10 years of struggle and which they learnt to enjoy in full to bring them more profit or just the ordinary but everlasting things which help them to survive. Those who have nothing left are happy with their freedom, the freedom from fear of loosing something.
